Welcome to my Poetry Corner. I enjoy reading romantic poems on the Web and on this page I decided to put my favourite ones so you can share with me the feeling they have. Unfortunately, I believe they are public domain. If there is anything here that you believe is your property, please E-mail me and I will remove it immediately.
I have a friend
At the end
Of the world.
his name is a breath
Of fresh air.
He is dressed in
Corey chiffon. At least
I think it is chiffon
It has a peculiar look, like smoke.
It wraps him round
It blows out of the place
It cancels him
I have not seen his face.
But I have seen his eyes, they are
As pretty and bright
As raindrops on black twigs
In March and heard him say:
I am a breath
Of fresh air for you, a change
By and By
Black March I call him
Because of his eyes
Being like March raindrops
On black twigs
But the friend
Whatever new names I give him
Is an old friend. he says:
Whatever names you give me
A breath of fresh air,
A change for you.
Love is the way you make someone feel.
The way someone makes you feel.
Love is the sharing, the caring
The want and the need.
Love is not just a word.
Love is a power with unknown strengths.
It has the power to make someone smile.
To make someone laugh.
To make someone love you in return.
Love is what your heart feels.
What your heart says.
Ignore your heart and it will fade away,
Listen to your heart, follow your heart, let it sing.
Let it run free and it can bring you anything.
Love is a bond.
A way to keep people together.
Love is everything wonderful.
Love Is You
How glad I am to feel you near,
to have as you a friend of common Faith,
to open up my heart to one not too afraid to look,
or too displeased to care,
but one who peers with interest rapt into the center of my soul.
How pleasant here to feel your voice role over me like the sea,
bright and fresh as a summer afternoon.
whose thoughts draw my anxious eyes as a rainbow in the sky.
Oh, the joy unearned to gaze into a mind so pure,
a model of the holy life, next to me as in the war,
or just to rest in silence savoring our tender tie.
Oh, to sit so close to one who knows my good and bad,
and chooses still my side.
now to share that clean, unselfish, flame of nearer inner bonds,
the soft embrace of hearts who truly care.

When You Go
When you go,
if you go
I should want to die,
there's nothing I'de be saved by
more than the time
you fell asleep in my arms
in a trust so gentle
I let the darkening room
drink up the evening, till
rest, or the new rain
lightly roused you awake.
I asked myself if you heard the
rain in your dream
and half dreaming still
you only said, I Love You
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all
Alfred Lord Tennyson
I am the Song
I am the song that sings the bird,
I am the leaf that grows the land,
I am the tide that moves the moon,
I am the stream that halts the sand,
I am the cloud that drives the storm,
I am the earth that lights the sun,
I am the fire that strikes the stone,
I am the clay that shapes the hand,
I am the word that speaks the man,
